Chocolate Series
VCD 9 | Packaging Design My class was tasked with creating packaging for a range of chocolate bars. Using type, imagery, photography, illustration or a combination of these, our designs needed to consider current or future market trends and exude quality, inventiveness and style. The resulting design should have authenticity, and be targeted packaged and aimed at an appropriate consumer group. Taking inspiration from my hometown, I created a chocolate series that would emulate the flavors of New Orleans. Vieux Carré Chocolatiers would be sold in local boutique and gift stores around the city as specialty chocolate bars or as gifts. One could either give these to a fellow New Orleanian, send them to a friend away from home, or bring them back as a souvenir if just visiting. Each label makes a nod to the high-end nature of the chocolate bars with the custom calligraphic hand-lettering and gold embellishments.
